Binghamton University Nursing Programs - NCLEX Passing Rates and Program Rankings

Named after its location, Binghamton University is one of the members of the State University of New York. This four-year public university received an approval as a degree-granting institution by the Board of Regents of New York State and the Trustees of the State University of New York. Moreover, its Decker School of Nursing under the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences is accredited by the Middles States Commission on Higher Education.

BS in Nursing: Traditional Program – This traditional BSN program has several entry tracks—for high school graduates, transfer students, and for those with dual-degree admission. The four-year, 126 credit hours is for high school graduates. For transfer students, they can also be admitted in the program for two or three years of completion. The same program completion time is also offered through the Intra-University Transfer (IUT) and Double-Degree Admission (DD). Program graduates can sit in the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.

BS in Nursing: Baccalaureate Accelerated Track (BAT) Program - Students with a non-nursing baccalaureate degree can obtain a BSN in nursing degree in as few as 12 months. With 126 credit hours, the program has rigorous coursework. Graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN.

BS in Nursing: RN- BS program - With completely online coursework, this program is designed for registered nurses who would like to obtain a BSN degree. The said RNs should possess a nursing diploma or an associate degree in nursing. Program delivery is flexible since no login time is required.

Master of Science in Nursing (MS Program) - This program is designed to equip bachelor-prepared nurses for their roles as a nurse educator, nurse practitioner, or clinical nurse specialist. With four-semester completion, 46 to 48 credits are required to finish the program depending on the chosen track.

Advanced Standing Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program - With four tracks of specialization available, this Advanced Standing DN program equips clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners to adapt with the ever-changing healthcare delivery and needs. The tracks available are in: Adult Gerontology, Community Health, Family Health, and Family Psychiatric Mental Health.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing Program - Designed for students who possess a baccalaureate degree or an advanced degree in nursing, this program places emphasis on research and active scholarship. To be admitted in the program, requirements include a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 and a current license as a registered professional nurse in the state.

Postgraduate Nurse Practitioner Certificate - For nurses who possess a master’s degree and would like to advance their clinical preparation as a nurse practitioner, this program provides eligibility for New York state certification and for national certification exam. Specialty tracks offered are Adult-Gerontology, Community Health, Family Health, and Family Psychiatric Mental Health.
