West Chester University (WCU) is a public research university in West Chester. Its baccalaureate and master’s degree in nursing, as well as its DNP programs under the Department of Nursing are CCNE-accredited. The said department aims to produce graduates who are equipped with the competencies needed for evidence-based quality nursing care. Moreover, WCU’s nursing students will have access to the state-of-the art facilities and equipment in its Duey Immersive Learning Center. Among the facilities housed in the center are assessment labs, patient, exam, and debriefing rooms, and high-fidelity manikins. A low student to faculty ratio is also maintained during skills and simulations sessions.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Designed to prepare students for entry-level nursing practice, the BSN program at WCU has several options depending on the student’s current educational credentials.  The Advance-2-BSN is an Accelerated Second-Degree Nursing Program for students with non-nursing baccalaureate degrees. By building on the student’s priori knowledge, this can be completed in as few as 18 months.   Meanwhile, registered nurses seeking a BSN degree can enroll in the RN to BSN program. A total of 120 credits is required for program completion, and 30 of which must be completed at WCU.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) - This CCNE-accredited MSN program can be completed in part-time or full-time study with asynchronous and synchronous online delivery. The nature of course delivery allows employment while enrolled in the program. Students can choose between two tracks of specialization- Nursing Education and Adult-Gerontology CNS.

School Nurse Certification - This post-baccalaureate certification program is designed to prepare students for the certification as an Educational Specialist I- School Nurse. RNs enrolled in this program are fully-equipped to meet the needs of children and teenagers in schools.

Doctor of Nursing Practice- The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is for a nurse with an earned Nursing Master's degree. This 35-credit online program consists of three components, The Science of Nursing, Leadership, and Practice, with 10, 9, and 16 credits, respectively. Instead of a dissertation, a capstone project is required as a culminating work.
