Named after its location, Bloomsburg University (BU) is a comprehensive public university founded in 1839. Its Department of Nursing under the College of Science and Technology has CCNE-accredited nursing programs in the baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral level. The core courses are delivered in both synchronous and asynchronous online format. Specialization tracks include: Nurse Practitioner, Public Health and Nursing Administration.
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) - This practice-oriented program aims to prepare nurses for the highest level of clinical practice. Two options are available for this DNP degree—The Post Masters DNP and the Nurse Anesthesia BSN-DNP. The former is a 33-credit program which can be completed in two years. The latter is designed to prepare nurses to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
