South Suburban College
South Suburban College offers a two-year Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program. South Suburban is a public college located in South Holland, Illinois. Throughout the course of study, students will acquire basic knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and upon graduation they will be adequately prepared to take the NCLEX exam.
South Suburban College’s mission is to equip nursing students with the necessary knowledge to provide safe, quality, and patient-centered nursing care. The program places emphasis on diverse patient populations of all age groups, cultivating clinical reasoning/nursing judgment, developing and participating in patient care improvement processes, collaboration and teamwork, holistic and compassionate patient care, as well as information management principles and patient care technology. Graduates of the ADN program at South Suburban College will have a thorough understanding of the management, legal, and ethical guidelines that are standards in the industry.
Students can enroll into the program once a year in the fall. Admissions are not highly competitive, as long as the basic requirements are met. Accepted students are required to complete a criminal background check and a urine drug screening prior to enrollment.
