Wilkes University is a four-year private educational institution in Wilkes-Barre. It is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment to its students. The university’s Passan School of Nursing has been producing high-quality nursing graduates for more than 40 years. An extensive array of nursing programs are offered in the said school.

Nursing (BSN) - With 120 credit hours required, this program prepares nurses for the NCLEX-RM and for their roles as professional nurses. It is delivered on-campus, with direct clinical practice for five semesters. Students also gain hands-on experiences through the university’s Clinical Nursing Simulation Center which houses high-fidelity manikins and suites that resemble a real hospital room. Moreover, students who possess a baccalaureate degree in another degree can obtain a BSN degree through the Accelerated BSN option. Unlike the traditional BSN program, this accelerated option is offered 100% online excluding the residencies and clinicals. Meanwhile, LPNs seeking a BSN degree can also do so through the LPN to BSN program.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) — Nurse Practitioner - Offered completely online (except for the required residences and clinicals), this program equips nurses with the competencies needed for improved patient outcomes. Students can choose between these three concentrations—Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care, and Psychiatric/Mental Health. Meanwhile, these concentrations are also offered in the RN to MSN entry option and in the post-graduate APRN certificate program. The former is designed for RNs with associate degrees who are seeking an MSN degree.

Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) - With completely online coursework, this program offers flexibility for working individuals. Courses are in 12-week duration, and there are multiple annual starts. This terminal degree in nursing is designed for baccalaureate-prepared nurses.  Being an accelerated program, it can be completed in as few as two years or less (six terms).

PhD in Nursing - Similar to the DNP program, the PhD in Nursing program is offered completely online with 12 weeks duration for courses. However, this doctoral program is focused on research. In terms of admission, it has two annual starts.
