Waynesburg University Nursing Programs - NCLEX Passing Rates and Program Rankings

Named after its location, Waynesburg University is an MSCHE-accredited private educational institution. Aside from its Main Campus in Waynesburg, this non-profit university also has a Southpointe Center in Canonsburg. Students in its Department of Nursing will receive one-on-one attention from full-time nursing faculty. The department’s nursing baccalaureate and master’s degree programs as well as its NDP program are CCNE-accredited. Evidence-based and clinical practice are given emphasis in the curriculum, with clinicals starting as early as sophomore year. The department also offers a simulation lab with high-fidelity simulators and simulation rooms.

Nursing Program - Several options at attaining a BSN degree are offered at Waynesburg University. These are designed to prepare generalist nurses who are fully equipped to fulfill the nursing roles. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) can enroll in the LPN to BSN option. Meanwhile, a 3-semester and 2-summer completion is available for second-degree students through the Nursing as a Second-Degree option. Lastly, licensed registered nurses can also obtain a BSN degree in as few as three semesters through the RN to BSN option.

Master of Science in Nursing - With flexible scheduling of courses, students can obtain an MSN degree in around 2-years for a part-time study. Course delivery is completely online with lengths of 8 weeks and 7 weeks for the summer terms. Offered concentration are in: Administration and Education and Nursing Informatics. Dual concentration in Administration and Education, as well as in Nursing and MBA are also available. A Post-Master’s Nursing Informatics Certification is also available.

Doctor of Nursing Practice - With 36 credit hours required, this program can be completed in three years or four years. The said years of completion are for 12 and 9 credits per year, respectively. Through a mix of 8- and 16-week courses, students are equipped with skills designed for leadership and various high-level positions in the healthcare industry.

The nursing school at Waynesburg University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Its nursing programs are accredited by CCNE.
