Saint Francis University (SFU) is a private liberal arts educational institution in Loretto. It is one of the nation’s first Catholic coeducational universities. Its School of Health Sciences and Education houses its Department of Nursing. Traditional Undergraduate Nursing - With full approval from the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, this program prepares students for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam. The program features an individualized attention with a student to faculty ratio of 8:1 on clinical sites. Moreover, hands-on learning through simulations is given emphasis in the curriculum.
RN to BSN to MSN - This program features two nursing degree options for registered nurses. With classes conducted online, students can obtain a BSN degree in as little as 11 months. Up to 98 credits are transferable toward the student’s degree. The curriculum is founded on the AACN Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice.
Masters of Science in Nursing, Online MSN - With small class sizes, this program equips nurses for advanced skills needed in their profession. Students are assigned a faculty advisor throughout the program. Students can choose between these tracks: Leadership and Education, or Family (Individual Across the Lifespan) Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Meanwhile, students who already earned a master’s degree in nursing can also become a family nurse practitioner through the Post-Master’s Certificate FNP Program.
