Fulton-Montgomery Community College
Fulton-Montgomery Community College is part of the SUNY system and is located in Johnstown, NY. They offer an ACEN accredited ADN program that incorporates humanities with nursing science to prepare culturally sensitive and competent nurses. There are several scholarships available for nursing students as well as financial aid offerings. Students will gain clinical experiences in nearby healthcare facilities that range from hospitals and nursing homes to private care and specialized facilities.
Fulton-Montgomery also has several transfer agreements with public and private universities, allowing students to seamlessly transfer into a BSN program upon completion of the ADN program. This is particularly beneficial as New York has a "BS in 10" law, requiring nurses to obtain a BSN within 10 years of becoming a practicing registered nurse. They enroll new students once annually in the fall. For those seeking LPN, transfer, or re-admittance into the program may enroll in the spring. LPNs can qualify for advanced placement credit.
