Undergraduate Programs: Berry College offers a highly competitive BSN program that helps students make use of the head, heart, and hands while providing high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients of all backgrounds. The nursing students are required to take part in a Cross-Cultural Immersion program to advance their understanding of world cultures, uniqueness, and similarities.
The goal of the clinical component of the nursing program is to provide the student with basic nursing skills and to allow her/him to practice those skills in a variety of health care settings. Students will gain knowledge, attitude, and skills essential for successful employment as a nurse.
Students are able to gain hands-on experience by doing clinical rotations at a local hospital that is minutes away from campus. By volunteering in critical care and high intensity units, there will be more opportunities for students to help develop care plans while caring for patients who primarily speak Spanish.
Students will be able to develop their communication skills by providing care in outpatient and home health settings since they include patient education and community teaching abilities. Students can also experience time management, problem solving, decision making, and quality improvement through care
